Welcome! This guide helps you prepare your SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) environment ahead of the hands-on workshop on May 19 at the SAP Office in Plano, TX. Working through both setup guides takes approximately 45 minutes total, and each guide includes screenshots to walk you through every step.
Complete Step 1 before the workshop. Step 2 is optional — required only if your team plans to use automated document workflows.

Step 1 — Document AI Setup

Configure SAP Document Information Extraction from scratch. Required for all attendees. ~25 minutes.

Step 2 — Process Automation Setup

Set up SAP Build Process Automation with entitlements, instances, and Generative AI. Optional. ~20 minutes.

What You’ll Configure

Create your BTP subaccount

Set up a new SAP BTP subaccount and configure Cloud Foundry.

Assign service entitlements

Add SAP Document AI and Process Automation service plans.

Set up users and roles

Create users and assign the required role collections.

Verify your setup

Confirm all instances and subscriptions are active before the workshop.
